MOUNT OLIVE -- David Earl "Pete" Vinson Jr., 55, well-known Mount Olive mechanic, passed away suddenly Thursday morning, March 24, 2011, at his repair shop, the Mount Olive Auto Repair Service.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Mach 26, 2011, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with burial following in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pete is survived by his wife, Loretta Baker Vinson; a daughter, Amanda Vinson of the home; a son, Adam Vinson of Mount Olive, along with his girlfriend, Alicia Davis; a grandson, David Easton Vinson; his mother, Nancy Kelly Vinson Brock of Mount Olive; a stepbrother, Dwight Brock of Mount Olive; a sister-in-law, Elda Baker of Goldsboro; a niece, Katina B. Hilton of Goldsboro; his uncles and aunts, Bobby and Shirley Kelly of Mount Olive, Nellie and Donald Hall of Dudley, Sadie and Wayne Edwards of Seven Springs and Faye Kelly of Faison; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Earl Vinson; his stepfather, Henry Earl Brock; his maternal grandparents, Ed and Lillie Kelly; his parents-in-law, Roy and Alene Baker; a brother-in-law, C. L. Baker; and an uncle, Sam Kelly.
Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home Friday evening, March 25, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and the family, at other times, will receive friends at his mother's residence on Summerlin's Crossroads Road, Mount Olive.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
