DAVID K. RHOADES

David Kent Rhoades, 64, died Wednesday at his residence.

Born in Prophetstown, Ill., he was the son of the late Howard Wayne Rhoades and Helen Dessing Rhoades.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Toler officiating.

Mr. Rhoades is survived by his wife, Noka Sue Carver Rhoades; five children, David Kent Rhoades II, Tammy Sue Rhoades, Tonia Annette Gooding, Ray Wayne Rhoades I and David A. Rhoades; son-in-law, Thomas Gooding; daughters-in-law, Cathy Rhoades, Kimberley Rhoades and Sandy Huff Rhoades; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He loved to go fishing, camping and hunting. He loved his family, and was a wonderful father, grandfather and husband.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and served our country proudly.

He was a hardworking man, who worked from the time he went into the Unites States Army until he became critically ill. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
