DUDLEY -- Mrs. Mamie Young Baker, 89, 6006 Highland Road, Dudley, N.C., joined her heavenly life Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.

Mamie was born Jan. 1, 1922, to the late Henry Young and Lizzie McCoy Young.

She attended Wayne County Public Schools.

Mamie was employed for many years with the J. P. Taylor Tobacco Factory.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 2 p.m. at New Stoney Hill United Holy Church, 1003 Poplar St., Goldsboro, N.C., with pastor Howard E. McNair officiating.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, March 13, 2011, also at New Stoney Hill United Holy Church, 1003 Poplar St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.

Mrs. Baker left to cherish her memories her two brothers, William Henry Young of Goldsboro and Clarence Young and wife, Katherine, of Raleigh; three daughters, Jeanette James and husband, Jasper, of Maryland, Barbara Thomas and husband, Willie, of Maryland and Linda Evans of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Keena and husband, Roland, Shanel, Candace, Christi, Andreika and husband, Tony, Rico and wife, Syreeta, and Marion Nicole; two great-grandchildren, Kamari and Sanaiya; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
