RUBY T. DAVENPORT

ALBERTSON -- Ruby Taylor Davenport, 73, died Tuesday at her home in Outlaw's Bridge community.

A graveside memorial service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Davenport Family Cemetery located behind 4898 N.C. 111 North in Seven Springs, with the Rev. Geoffrey A. Carter officiating.

The family will be receiving friends at her residence, 160 Sheep Pasture Road, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Davenport, a part of the Alum Springs Baptist Church family and former Jan-Mark employee, is survived by three children and their spouses, Eleanor D. and Bobby Waldon of Mount Olive, Barbara D. and Michael Rivenbark of Seven Springs and Vance and Teresa Davenport of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Gary Davenport and wife, Jeannine "Cookie," Angie Saldivar and husband, Rod, Scotty Thornton and wife, Wendy, Tina Creel and husband, Galen, Sandy McHugh and husband, Shawn, and Tonya Lewis and husband, Chris; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Davenport; her parents, Ben Taylor and Mattie Alphin Taylor; a sister, Lina Belle T. Pike; and two brothers, Cecil Taylor and Leland Taylor.

A service of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
