WASHINGTON, N.C. -- Larry W. Faulk, Washington, N.C., 69, died Saturday at Beaufort County Medical Center.

Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Audrey Holland Faulk.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Davis and a brother, Jerry Faulk.

Larry retired from the United States Air Force after 29 honorable years, where he proudly served his country as an aircraft and missile maintenance superintendent. At the pinnacle of his long and distinguished career, Larry was the 68th Air Refueling Wing senior enlisted advisor at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington, the Vietnam Veterans of America, the American Military Society and the Disabled American Veterans.

A service to celebrate Larry's life will be held Tuesday at 12 noon from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor Kevin Woolard officiating.

Family members will greet friends from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Larry is survived by his wife, Lougene Faulk; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry M. and Sheila Faulk of Washington, N.C., Gregory W. and Rhonda Faulk of Niceville, Fla., and David B. and Lisa Faulk of Goldsboro, N.C.; three brothers, Charles Faulk and Jimmy Faulk both of Mount Olive, N.C., and Michael Faulk of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Kay Standell and Peggy Sartin both of Mount Olive, N.C., and Sandra Oliver of Davison, Mich.; four grandchildren, Gregory Joseph Faulk of Phoenix, Ariz., Kavan W. Faulk of Omaha, Neb., Andrew B. Faulk of Goldsboro, N.C., and Lindsay E. Faulk of Washington, N.C.

At Larry's request, memorial gifts may be directed to First Free Will Baptist Church Missions, 901 N. Bonner St., Washington, N.C., 27889.
