Mrs. Hedy Dickerson Reid, 65, 1407 North Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., departed this life peacefully Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
Hedy was born in Chesterfield County, Va., July 11, 1945, to the late Mr. Ezekiel Dickerson Jr. and Mrs. Courtney Peacock Dickerson.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah Witnesses, 600 Eleventh St., Goldsboro, N.C., with elder Harvey Jacobs officiating.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, John T. Reid Sr.; three children, Kelvin Reid, John T. Reid Jr. and Sharon Reid-Williams; three siblings, Billy Dickerson and wife, Louise, Sarah Johnson and stepsister, Gracie White; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six aunts; three uncles; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the residence, 1407 North Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
