THOMAS BEDFORD "TOMMY" ROBBINS

Thomas Bedford "Tommy" Robbins, 74, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011.
Born in Nash County May 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Lester David Robbins and Maragret Lois Batchelor Robbins.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Martha Christine Robbins May and Lois Jeanette Robbins Bulluck.
He had a long career in various education and guidance roles for the Fairfax County school system in Fairfax, Va., until his retirement in 1988. He then relocated to Maine.
Surviving are his son, Gregory B. Robbins, and wife, Lisa Tanner Robbins, of Wilson; grandchildren, Thomas Tanner Robbins and Catherine Grace Robbins; and sister, Betty Robbins McAuley, and husband, Reid, of Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home in Rocky Mount.
A private service will follow in Maine.
