BRYANT MCIVER

WARSAW -- With heavy hearts, the staff and management of Rhodes Funeral Home Inc. solemnly announce the homegoing of one of our very own staff members, Mr. Bryant McIver Sr., 82, 334 W. Bay St., Warsaw. Mr. Bryant passed suddenly Saturday morning, Jan. 8, 2011, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

The final earthly tribute for Mr. Bryant McIver will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 336 W. Hill Street, Warsaw, with the Rev. Theodore Thomas officiating. He will then be taken by North Carolina's only white and gold fleet to Devotional Gardens, where he will be laid to rest beside Mrs. Elnora McIver after military rights have been performed.

Mr. Bryant was a loving and dedicated father to Angela Gaskins of Durham and Bryant McIver Jr. of Warsaw; a loving grandfather to six; brother of Luella Manigo of Charlotte, Effie McCloud of Durham, Betty Best and Geraldine Humphrey of Kenansville; uncle; and friend to many.

He was born and raised in Sarecta Road community of Duplin County, N.C., the son of the late Hall and Rebecca McIver, July 5, 1928.

He was the owner and operator of McIver Unlimited Limousine Service of Warsaw.

He had been a dedicated member of the Rhodes Funeral Home staff since its opening in Warsaw in 1978.

Mr. Bryant was a very active person, and visited with the senior citizens daily at the Warsaw nutrition site.

A wake will be held Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel, 195 Kenansville Hwy., Warsaw, N.C.

A dignified and sympathetic service, with military honors entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home Inc. Warsaw.
