KINSTON -- Mr. Kay Keiter McCoy, 69, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in Kinston, N.C.
Keiter was a native of Arba community of Greene County, and was the son of the late Cicero and Kathleen Shirley McCoy.
He served in the Army National Guard in the 1960s, and was a student of the Civil War.
Keiter had attended Mount Olive College.
A funeral service is being held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Keiter is survived by his brother, James McCoy of Goldsboro; sister, Sylvia McCoy Mewborn of Chapel Hill; and brother, William O. McCoy of Chapel Hill. He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa McCoy of Snow Hill and Kay Vearco of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hull Road Free Will Baptist Church, 3984 Hull Road, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.
