Mr. Robert Lee "Monk" Bell, 64, 358 Hare Road, Goldsboro, N.C., passed away suddenly Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with the Rev. Joe Jackson as eulogist and pastor and moderator Michael Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery on Central Heights Road.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Brenda Smith Bell of the home; a son, Mr. Ricky Bell of the home; a daughter, Tonya (Jasper) Barrett of Goldsboro, N.C.; two grandsons, Ricky Bell Jr. and Shauqan Bell both of Goldsboro, N.C.; a granddaughter, Ty'Esha Bell of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother, Danny Lee Bell of Goldsboro; two sisters, Barbara "Sis" Bell of Goldsboro, N.C., and Johnnie (Leslie) Bryant of Pikeville, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Kirby Lee Smith Jr. of Durham, N.C.; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; a great-nephew; cousins; other relatives; friends; and special people including Ms. Ruthie B. Greenfield and Ms. Lottie Bell both of Goldsboro, N.C.
The public may view the body Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
