Roy Williams Jr. was born May 18, 1933, to the late Hosea and Rubertha Daniels Williams in Greene County.

He attended Greene County School System. He departed this life Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Roy was a devoted and quiet family man who was always willing to help anyone.

Oct. 5, 1959, he was united in holy matrimony to Margie Lmm.

He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Gary Williams; his brothers, James E. Williams and Ozzie Williams; and a sister, Adell Reddon.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years, Margie Williams of the home; children, George Allen Williams (Carolyn) of Stantonsburg, N.C., and Roy Milton Williams (Varion), Micheal Williams (Pernell) and Fredrick Williams all of Goldsboro, N.C., and Mickey Pettiway and Sylvia Pettiway both of Wilson, N.C.; two brothers, John Alfred Williams (Ethel Mae), and Melvin Williams (Shirley) of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Margaret Cole of Baltimore, Md.; an aunt, Catherine Williams; six sisters-in-law, Winne Williams, Annie Pettiway (James), Hilda Sutton (John), Lucille Hill and Jo-Ann Rowe, Betty Lou Lamb; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing for Mr. Williams will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc.

Celebration of life services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lindell Deliverance Church. After which Mr. Williams and his cherished family will be escorted to Fremont Cemetery for interment rites.

Although his family must leave him this earthly consign, he is now resting from his labor in the arms of the Lord.

The family is receiving services of compassion and distinguished class from E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc.
