LOUISE H. BUTLER

Louise Price Hollowell Butler, 82, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

A service to celebrate Louise's life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Adam Seate officiating. The family will gather following the service for a reception and a time of visitation in the fellowship hall. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Billy Wilkins, 1200 Evergreen Ave.

Louise was born in Jones County on May 1, 1928, to the late Alfonso Price and Gladys Mettz Price. She was married to the late Earl T. Butler and Adron Gilbert Hollowell. Louise was a lady of southern hospitality who enjoyed playing bridge with her dear friends and also traveling. She got great pleasure in watching baseball games, and Louise could often be found cheering on her favorite team at a game. She had been a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for over 45 years.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Barbara H. Wilkins and husband, Billy, of Goldsboro and Jessye H. Maher and husband, Brian, of Goldsboro; her son, Allan G. Hollowell and wife, Cathy, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Catherine Wilkins Gregory and husband, Jamie, Elizabeth Wilkins, Bill Maher, Ben Maher, Mary Catherine Hollowell and Adron Hollowell; her great-grandchildren, Mason Gregory and Nate Gregory; and her sisters, Lela Mae Godwin of Goldsboro and Geraldine "Jerry" P. Bryan of Fayetteville.

In addition to her husband's and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Price; and her sisters, Jackie Montague, Clarisse Clark and Mildred Hendrix.
