JACQUELINE SANDBORN EDWARDS WHITFIELD

KENANSVILLE -- Jacqueline Sandborn Edwards Whitfield, 79, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Whitfield was born March 7, 1931, in Portland, Mich., to the late George and Norma Atwell Sandborn.
Mrs. Whitfield is survived by a son, David "Spike" Edwards and Daphne Costin of Albertson; granddaughters, Danna Herring Westerbeek and husband, Kraig, of Warsaw and Toni Herring DeVane and husband, Clay, of Elizabethtown; brothers, Steve Sandborn of California and James Sandborn of Nevada; sisters, Beverly Fedeiva, Mary Sandborn and Norma Hill all of Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Kyndall, Kari, Kelli and Karsyn Westerbeek all of Warsaw and Cate and Claire DeVane of Elizabethtown.
Mrs. Whitfield was predeceased in death by husbands, John Edwards and William "Billy" Whitfield; daughter, Shirley Edwards Herring; brothers, George "Bill," Loren "Bud," Charles and Gary Sandborn; and sister, Janean West.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, in Devotional Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unity United Methodist Church's playground project, 1635 W. Wards Bridge Road, Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
