SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Hubert H. Brewington, 93, formerly of Dudley, N.C., passed away Wednesday Aug. 11, 2010, at his home in Silver Spring, Md.

Hubert Brewington was born in Dunn, N.C., Sept. 27, 1916, to the late Rufus and Ida Brewington. He was married to Marcia Bohee, who preceded him in death July 15, 2010.

After graduating from North Carolina A&T State College in 1940 and serving his country during World War II, Hubert settled in the Washington, D.C., area. He was a career civil servant and worked as a biochemist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

After his retirement, Hubert started a second career and spent the next 16 years as a real estate broker.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church UCC in Dudley, N.C., followed by a service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Harold Daniels officiating.

Hubert Brewington is survived by his children, Dana and Eric; a son-in-law, William Tompkins; two sisters, Mae and Helen Marks; a brother, Leonard Brewington; a brother-in-law, Dr. Sumner Bohee; two grandchildren, Erica and Aaron Brewington; and a host of other relatives.
