RUSSELL VINSON SR.

GOLDSBORO -- Russell Vinson Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at his home.
Russell was born in Wayne County Sept. 6, 1922, to the late Ed Vinson and Effie Peele Vinson. He was married to the late Mildred Wiley Vinson.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home chapel, with Ray Boyette and Lewis Forsythe officiating. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Russell is survived by his sons, Bill Vinson and wife, Penny, Gene Vinson and wife, Pat, Russell Vinson Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Danny Vinson and wife, Debbie, all of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Marie Williams of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Vinson; his sisters, Ruby Smith and Audrey Vaglenti; and his granddaughter, Beth-Ellen Vinson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 24, 2010, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
