MILDRED F. KORNEGAY

GOLDSBORO -- Mildred Flowers Meacham Kornegay, 86, passed away Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr. officiating. A private interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday during the hour prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the home of Greg and Denise Meacham, 118 Quail Drive, Dudley, in Sleepy Creek village.

Mrs. Kornegay, the widow of Fred Meacham Jr. and Ralph Kornegay, was a former longtime Mount Olive resident.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Olive.

She is survived by a daughter, Mildred "Millie" M. Jones and husband, Leon, of Clayton; two sons, Fred L. Meacham III and wife, Jennie, of Greensboro and Greg Meacham and wife, Denise, of Sleepy Creek, Dudley; five grandchildren, Camile Jones, Chloe Jones, Lee Meacham, Megan Meacham and Kelly Nouri; two stepsons, Robert Kornegay and Greg Kornegay both of Swansboro; and a niece, Julie Connely of Deep Gap, N.C.

Along with her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eudelle Hatcher; and their parents, Leon and Blanche Davis Flowers.

The family welcomes flowers or memorial gifts to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 420, Mount Olive N.C., 28365.
