Gertrude Ward Grady, 95, passed away Thursday.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be at Grady Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Grady was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Wayne County to the late James Franklin Ward and Lula Katherine Sasser Ward. She was wife of the late Gorden Kenneth Grady, who died Nov. 19, 1968.

Mrs. Grady was a lifelong member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church. She sincerely loved each pastor and member of her church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the church.

Mrs. Grady was also a member of the Seven Springs Rescue Squad ladies auxiliary for many years.

Mrs. Grady is survived by a daughter, Linda Grady Price and husband, Donald; two sons, Kenneth Ward Grady and wife, Linda, and James Glenn "Byrd" Grady and wife, Norma; six grandchildren, Suzanne Harrell and husband, Richard, and their children, Zachary and Kathryn; Chad Grady and wife, Cindy, and their children, Elizabeth, Clay and Stormy; Mary Beth Rouse and husband, Frankie, and their children, Andrew and Logan; and Ranger Grady and wife, Charlene, and their children, Tori, Ashley and Shane; Paige G. Westbrook and husband, Sammy, and their son, Jackson; and Cassie G. Tucker and husband, Brandon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grady was preceded in death by a brother, James Woodrow Ward.

The family will receive friends Saturday beginning one hour before the service in the fellowship hall of St. John Free Will Baptist Church, and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Price, 4796 Indian Springs Road in Seven Springs.
