BETTY E. JONES

Betty Earl Jinnette Jones, 81, passed away Saturday morning at the Brian Center surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Freddie Gooding officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Betty was born in Wayne County to the late Archie and Maggie Jinnette and was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Jones, Sewell Strickland and William Weaver. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had worked as a dental assistant in various offices in Wayne County. After retiring from dentistry, she worked part-time at Big Daddy's Restaurant at Kure Beach.

Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, David W. Strickland and wife, Bonnie, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Edna Mae Talton of Pikeville and Rose Whitfield and husband, Elton, of LaGrange; two brothers, Jimmy Jinnette of Goldsboro and Kenneth Jinnette and wife, JoAnn, of Mooresville; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Jimmy Strickland.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Phillip E. Weaver and a brother, Needham Jacob Jinnette.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Eastern Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, NC 27605.

The family would like to express a sincere appreciation to the staff of the Brian Center for taking care of Betty for two and a half years. Special thanks to all the family and friends that shared their time with Betty.
