VALERIE S. KOSUDA

Valerie Sharpe Kosuda, 72, passed away Thursday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steward A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Valerie was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, Dec. 13, 1937, to the late Edmond Sharpe and Alice Maude Sharpe. She was married to the late Joseph Kosuda.
Valerie had worked at the Base Exchange at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base for many years and later served as the receptionist for the Family Y in Goldsboro.
For those who knew Valerie, she will be remembered by her charm, quick wit and her smile.
Valerie is survived by her daughter, Julie Aument and husband, Bruce, of Raleigh; her son, Joseph Kosuda and wife, Anne, of Goldsboro; her brother, Roy Sharpe of Suffolk, England; and her four grandchildren, Christopher Aument and wife, Samantha, Michelle Aument, Kelli Kosuda and Kaitlyn Kosuda.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Sharpe and David Sharpe, and her sister, Audrey Sharpe.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of her son at 114 Bear Creek Road in Goldsboro.
