ALENE W. HORNE

April 11, 1927-April 11, 2010

Alene Wallace Horne celebrated her 83rd birthday in the presence of her Lord and Savior Sunday.

Friends and family are welcome to join us for visitation at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel. The graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She was born in Four Oaks to Marvin and Viola Wallace, and lived most of her adult life in Goldsboro.

Alene was happily married for 50 years to Paul E. Horne, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Alene found great joy in her relationship with Christ and in serving others.

She loved baking her famous peanut butter brownies, gardening, writing poetry and being with the people she loved.

Alene spent the last five years of her life living at the Laurels of Forest Glenn in Garner, where she made friends who not only took care OF her, but cared ABOUT her. They became additions to our family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Betty Jean "BJ," and son-in-law Mike Bajorek; son, Danny, and daughter-in-law, Sherry J. Horne; brother, Ron, and sister-in-law, Joy Wallace; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Quinn and Stephen Bajorek and Brandon Powell, Joshua, Jacob and Alisha Horne; two grandchildren in heart, Trisha Caviness Muse and Beth Caviness DeBerry; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lexie Wallace.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
