James Stephen Boney Jr., 29, of Durham, formerly of Magnolia, died Wednesday at Duke Medical Center, Durham.
Funeral services were held at Byrd's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rose Hill, on Saturday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial followed at Little Mission Cemetery, Magnolia.
He is survived by his wife, Chakela Kearney Boney, and two sons.
Visitation was on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
