LESELY "LESTER" MONTGOMERY

In profound sorrow, the E.M. Matthews Funeral Home family joins in announcing the earthly transition of their dear loved one Mr. Lesely "Lester" Mont-gomery. Mr. Mont-gomery, 77, of 107 E. Branch St., Fremont, was born on June 15, 1932, in Greenville, S.C., to the late David Montgomery and Emma Keels Montgomery. He peacefully answered the Master's call on Easter Sunday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville NC. Lesely was the seventh baby boy in a family of 16. Due to his parents passing away while he was still a young lad, Lester was reared in Fountain by his uncle Preston Keels.

After moving to North Carolina, Lesely was united in holy matrimony to Shirley Coley in 1960. To this union, two beautiful children were born. Lester was employed at the Fremont Mill Company in Fremont. He was renowned as a "Jack of All Trades" who would go the extra mile to help anyone in need. Lesely was truly a family man and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Lesely was sadly preceded in passing by one daughter Ronetta Montgomery and several sisters and brothers.

Left to reflect on fond memories are: one daughter; Warnetta Montgomery; two grandchildren: Symetrice Montgomery and Quiana Montgomery; three sisters: Gladys Montgomery, Ollie Bell Montgomery and Mariah Montgomery; his mother-in-law: Lela Coley; two special brother-in-laws: Selby Artis and Ben Coley; a special niece: Quanda Coley; other special friends including: Delores Wright, Trumilla Reid, Robert Herring and Boyd Jones; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held for Mr. Montgomery today from 4 to 8 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc. 401 N. William St., Goldsboro. A tribute to life service will take place on Saturday at 11a.m. at Greater Morning Star Church in Fremont. Pastor Helen Reid will provide words on encouragement, after which, Mr. Montgomery's earthy temple along with his precious family, will be escorted to Coley Cemetery in Fremont for interment. For as much as the family so desires, to come to this site and
pay respects to Mr. Montgomery's corporeal resting place, his spiritual self will give them comfort, knowing that he was called to bright glory on Easter Sunday. Just ackowledging that Lesely joined the heavenly host on the same day the Savor of the world rose again, will surely sooth their heavy laden hearts.

The president and staff of E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc. are honored to serve the Montgomery family with true expressions of
compassion, care and
appreciation. (919)735-2775 www.emmatthewsfuneralhome.com.
