In profound sorrow, the E.M. Matthews Funeral Home family joins in with the Baker and Lewis family to announce the passing of their infant baby boy Ja'maj Jasir Lewis. Infant Ja'maj Lewis, of 503 Day Circle in Court Yard Apartments, Goldsboro, was born on March 8, 2010, to Tonniqua Shanquel Baker and Jamey Lewis in Wayne County. After a short yet joyful life, Ja'maj quietly entered into eternal rest on Easter Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Although Ja'maj was not on this earth for an extended period of time, he was truly loved by all that saw his big, beautiful brown eyes and joyous spirit. He will be greatly missed by all.

Ja'maj was proceeded in passing by Arabella Lewis and James Wilder.

His memories will forever reside in the hearts of his family such as: his mother Tonniqua Baker of the home and father Jamey Lewis of Goldsboro; two sisters: Quaniyan Lee of the home and Jameya Lewis of Goldsboro; two brothers: Jameer Lewis of Goldsboro and Seven Pound of Dudley; his grandparents: Mrs. Verlene Troublefield-Coleman of the home and Bobby Lee Baker of Goldsboro; two great-grandmothers: Barbara L. Best and Ethel Baker both of Goldsboro; one great-great-great aunt, Lenora Kornegay of Mount Olive; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.

A visitation for baby boy Ja'maj will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at New Spirit Church Ministries in Goldsboro. The formal services of reflection will being promptly at 4 p.m. Immediately following the tributes in the church, Infant Ja'maj and his adored family will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for services by the graveside.

Although those who loved him so, only have this earthly resting place to visit and reminisce on his short yet precious life. Our heavenly Father who is the preeminent comforter, will render solace and remind everyone, that Ja'maj is somewhere in God's children's play land, singing the oh so familiar song "Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world, red, yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world."
