EVELYN M. LANE

May 19, 1919-April 9, 2010

MOUNT OLIVE -- Evelyn Mozingo Lane, 90, passed from this life on Friday morning to meet her Lord and to reunite with her beloved husband and other departed loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Mount Olive Presbyter-ian Church, corner of Main and Breazeale in Mount Olive. The Rev. Steven Wicks will officiate, and interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends in the church's Baker Fellowship Hall during the hour before the service.

Mrs. Lane, widow of John William "Bill" Lane, was the youngest and last survivor of the 11 children born to her late parents, Thomas and Mattie Fields Mozingo. A longtime resident of West Station Street in Mount Olive, she had been a member of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church, with a long tenure of faithful attendance and service. Also, she was a member of its Mixed Adult Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lane was a retired floral designer with Mount Olive Floral Company.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mabel Mozingo of Grantham and Grace Lane of Mount Olive; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved roommate, Sarah Louise Price of Mount Olive Care Center in Mount Olive; and her "guardian angels," Beulah Jackson, Edith Sasser, and the Rev. Steve Wicks, all of Mount Olive, and the Community Home Care and Hospice team.

Remembering how Mrs. Lane loved flowers and arranging them, floral tributes are gladly welcomed, or for those who prefer to make a memorial gift, the family suggests her church, Mount Olive Presbyterian Church, PO Box 158, Mount Olive, NC 28365.

A Tyndall service.
