BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Howard Gordon French died Saturday.
The funeral was held Wednesday.
He was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Elbert, W. Va., to the late Howard P. French and Gladys Stoneman French.
He retired as a letter carrier with the Goldsboro Post Office after nearly 30 years. He served in the United States Army for eight years.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey French and wife, Sherry, of Goldsboro; daughter, Melissa French Jeffrey and husband, Scott, of Grantham; grandchildren, Jason and Emily French of Goldsboro; the mother of his children, Betty Kornegay French of Grantham; and brothers, Boyd French and Lynn French and wife, Linda.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
