ROBERT JACKSON CAIN

Robert Jackson Cain, 78, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Deacon Webster James presiding. The burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Robert Cain, 109 Armstrong Drive, Goldsboro.

He was born in Charleston, W.Va. to the late Oscar and Mary Cain, and was married to Doris Davenport Cain. He served as a pilot with the United States Air Force. He also was a Vietnam veteran and received the Distinguished Flying Cross award.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cain is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Cain of Goldsboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and Deeana Cain of West Palm Beach, Fla., Joe and Sherry Cain of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Russell and Pat Saunders of Galliapolis, Ohio, Fred and Ida Miller of Galliapolis, Ohio, Ahmet and Mary Chabuk of Seattle, Wash., and Ed and Tina Humble of Goldsboro; one grandchild, Parker Cain; and several nieces and nephews.
