WINFRED E. "JOE" JONES

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Winfred Earl "Joe" Jones, 90, died Jan. 5 in Fallbrook, Calif., where he and Hazel recently moved to be close to family.
Funeral was held Jan in Fallbrook, Calif., and his interment was at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif., with military honors.
He served in the National Guard, the Navy, the Army-Air Corps and the Air Force for 24 years. He was an industrial engineer after retirement from the service.
He was very active as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his retirement, he served in Washington, D.C., Temple, the Atlanta Temple and the Orlando Temple.
He loved to learn new things, loved to tell a "good clean joke," loved to serve and found satisfaction in a job well done.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Metcalf Jones; three daughters, Alison Jones Sherrill of Springfield, Va., Sarah Jones Peterson of Fallbrook, Califl, and Valerie Jones Risenmay of Ontario, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; and at present count, 25 great-grandchildren.
This earth is a little poorer now because he is no longer in it.
