WINSTON-SALEM -- Nora Elizabeth Holloway Scales, 74, passed away at home Tuesday.
The funeral will be held Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 916 E. 12th St. in Winston-Salem, at 12:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Paul Lowe officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mollie Holloway Sr.
Nora was born in Goldsboro.
Nora was a retired first-grade teacher with Forsyth County Public School System.
Survivors include her daughter, Mitzi D. Howell (Robert Sr.) of Winston-Salem; a sister, Josephine Cooper of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Robert Howell Jr. and Andrea Marie Scales both of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Holloway Jr.; her sisters, Catherine Richardson, Bertha Powell and Johnnie Bass; and a granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Howell.
A viewing will be held Monday from noon to 12:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends and family at the home of the Howells at 4132 Tise Ave. in Winston-Salem.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell Funeral Home, 822 Carl Russell Ave. in Winston-Salem.
