John Arter Pierce, 74, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with pastor Chad Smith, pastor Josh Smith and pastor Kelley Buffaloe officiating.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Maggie Wilkins Pierce.
Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Jennie Pierce, and four children.
Family members will greet friends Monday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. and at other times will be at the home of Jay and Angie Lancaster, 998 Falling Creek Church Road in Grantham.
