Clarence Swinson, 89, 210 Sanborn Lane, passed away Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

His life and legacy will be celebrated Saturday at noon at Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church. A public viewing will be at 11 a.m., with pastor Isaac Burnett officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest with military honors in Elmwood Cemetery.

Sacred memories are cherished by his children, Jean Thorpe of Chapel Hill, Clarence Swinson (Rose) of Antelope, Calif., evangelist Gloria Spears of Goldsboro, Charles Swinson (Wanda) of Greensboro, Thaddeus Swinson (Karen) of Sioux Falls, S.D., Richard Swinson (Rena) of Pikeville, Brenda Wooten (Hubert) of Goldsboro, Ronald Swinson of Goldsboro, Diane Turner (Stephen) of Warner Robins, Ga., and elder Darryl Swinson (Sheliah) of Goldsboro; siblings, Sadie Swinson Jennings of Bronx, N.Y., and Walter Shirley of Goldsboro; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in the silent halls of death by his parents, Richard and Silvia Swinson; his dear wife, Daisy McIntyre Swinson; a daughter Cynthia Swinson; five sisters; and five brothers.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 210 Sanborn Lane, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.

The Swinson family is being served by McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.
