SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Mattie Garris Mozingo Anderson died Sunday at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel, with the Rev. Rick Mondell officiating. There will be a time of visiting and sharing with the family following the service.
Mrs. Anderson was from Indian Springs community of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Rachel Rebecca Garris and the late Luby Mozingo.
When she lived in Marletta, Ga., she was a manager at several upscale restaurants in the metro Atlanta area and an active member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Elizabeth "Libby" Hinson (Marshall) of Charlotte and Mary Mozingo O'Tuel of Goldsboro; a brother, Albert Douglas "Tony" Mozingo (Joyce) of Kinston; and a number of nieces and nephews and a special great-niece, Elaine Williams Moore, who had been her primary care giver for the last several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leon W. Anderson Sr., and her only child Leon W. "Joe" Anderson Jr.
