JAMES "BUDDY" BROWN

James Preston "Buddy" Brown, 81, of 1102 Lake Drive, passed from this mortal stay Thursday in the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

His life will be celebrated and remembered Wednes-day at 1 p.m. at Atkinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Franklin officiating. His mortal remains will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Precious memories are held sacred by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lena Cox Brown of the home; his siblings, Mamie B. Exum of Goldsboro, Edward (Ella) Brown of Goldsboro; brother-in-law, Simon (Lola) Edmundson of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Mildred Breeden of Goldsboro and Vivian (William) Holder of Dudley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 until 8 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m., at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
