RUBY FISHER
Ruby Fisher, daughter of the late Claudie James and Ruby Genera (Floyd) Fisher, was born April 9, 1957, raised and educated in New York, and relocated to Goldsboro in 2003 to be caregiver to her parents.
Ruby was attending Wayne Community College, pursuing a degree in early childhood education, and was expected to graduate with a degree in the same discipline in January 2010.
She leaves her family with many memories and inspirations stemming from her endless pursuit of knowledge and awareness in all aspects of life. She served as motivation for her family, colleagues and most recently, her classmates, and she will be missed by all.
She leaves behind her two sons, Taj-Malik and Omar Kaleem; one grandson, Ta-Live; four sisters, Janice, Regina, Marva and Wendy of New York; two brothers, Giles of New York and Ronald of Seven Springs; nephews, Travius, Tarik, Jabr'il, Sulai and Ronald Jr.; nieces, Nya and Jocelin; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ms. Fisher will be held Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc. where the family will receive friends.
Ms. Fisher's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc. where the Fisher family is receiving caring and compassionate service.
