PRINCETON -- Velma Elizabeth Holt, 79, died Monday evening at Duke University Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Princeton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Coppock officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 2, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Clifton Graham and Gulielma Grantham Holt.
Miss. Holt was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Meredith College Alumnae Association and a former member of The Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.).
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Holt Southern of Smithfield; nephews, H. Gray Southern of Durham, Mark H. Southern of Raleigh, David G. Holt of Princeton and Clifton G. Holt of Princeton; niece, Bonnie Holt Barber of Princeton; and several grand-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Graham Holt.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests memorials be made to Princeton United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Princeton United Methodist Church.
