PIKEVILLE -- Louis Lee Jernigan, 54, passed away Wednesday.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home, with visitation to follow.
He was employed with Jernigan Logging for 27 years and Ponce Logging for the past year.
Louis will be remembered for his pig pickings, time spent with family and friends and sharing jokes with the "Waffle House Coffee Club."
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife and best friend of 22 years, Pamela "Denise" Jernigan of the home; daughters, Columbia Howell and friend, Donnie Moore, of Robersonville and Shannon Greene of Rosewood; sisters, Alice Kennedy of Kinston and Clara Moody and husband, Jeff, of Pink Hill; brothers, Charlie Jernigan and wife, Carol, of Pikeville and Ben Jernigan and wife, Dianne, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Mikey Howell, Avery Howell, Dylan Moore, Dylan Greene and Austin Greene. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, special friends, Pat and Kasondra Babe, and the "baby" of the family, "Prissy Girl."
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Lee Frizzelle Jernigan; brother, Douglas Darden Jernigan; and sister, Paulette Ann Jernigan Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pamela Jernigan, c/o Heritage Bank in Pikeville.
