MOUNT OLIVE -- Watkins Goodwyn "Bo" Young Sr., 71, 106 Ramblewood Drive, died Sunday afternoon.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Atwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service, and at the residence at other times.
Mr. Young was a native of Henderson in Vance County. He was the son of the late Robert G. and Helen Goodwyn Young and the husband of the late Marie Powell Young. His working career included employment with Rose's Department Stores where, for many years, he served as manager. He also worked with and was part-owner of Tar Heel Vinyl Distributors and, and in recent years before retirement, employment was with B and B Home Improvement.
Survivors include a son, Watkins G. "Bo" Young Jr. of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Carlia Y. and W. K. Lewis of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Casey Young Lewis and Anna Katherine Lewis; a brother, R. G. Young Jr. of Henderson; and a sister, Helen Young Pierce of Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC, 27834.
