POLLY R. HOOD

FAYETTEVILLE -- Polly Rogers Hood, formerly of Sampson County, born April 20, 1929, went home to be with the Lord Sunday at the age of 80.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faymont Baptist Church, with pastor Chris Evans presiding, assisted by chaplain Brandon Hood. She will be laid to rest in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
She was a member of Faymont Baptist Church, where she served on the fellowship committee and nursery committee for many years. She loved hosting gatherings for family and friends.
She exemplified Christ as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.
Polly loved God, her family, friends and flowers.
She will be remembered by her husband, Harvey L. Hood Jr.; sons, Leon Hood, Roger Hood and his wife, Ruby, and Thomas Hood and his wife, Demitra; daughters, Ann Horne and her husband, Wallace, and Lisa Bowers and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jimmy and his wife, Tara, Randy and his wife, Dee, Paul and his wife, Leah, Brandon, Ashlie, Kendyl and her husband, Brian, Casey and his wife, Crystal, Meghan and her husband, Efrain, Emily and her husband, Jake, Corey, Tiffany, Allen, Jessica and her husband, Eric, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Benjamin, Hunter, Peyton, Mara, Lyla, Caitlyn, Ethan, Jaylyn and Alyssa; and her son-in-law, Jim and his wife, Gerri.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Hendrix.
The family will receive friends at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey St., from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center, 2431 Legion Road, Fayetteville, NC, 28306.
Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville is handling the arrangements.
