MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Charles Edward Bizzell Sr., 77, entered into rest Wednesday.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bethia United Methodist Church with interment in Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, with military honors.

He was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Wayne County to Bettie Dale and Willis Edward Bizzell of Seven Springs.

Ed was a 1953 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He served as a Russian translator with the United States Army Security Agency during the Korean War from 1953 to 1956.

Ed's employment included advertising account executive at WNCT-TV in Greenville, local sales manager at WFMY-TV in Greensboro and executive vice president and station manager at WUTR-TV in Utica, N.Y. He later became sales manager for Saunders Brothers of Richmond and retired in 2000 after six years as territory manager for the Felmor Corp. in Baltimore, Md. Most recently he was a member of the staff of the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Jan Phillips Bizzell; his beloved wife, Betty Inge Bizzell; sons, Charles E. Bizzell Jr., F. Ward Bizzell and Mark Inge; daughters; Marydale B. Moore, Janna B. Pellerin and Robin Coleman; and nine grandchildren, Cory, Chase, Lauren, Hallie, Sydney, Griffin, Dylen, Alex and Whitney.

The family will receive friends Monday at Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.
