ADA S. WELLS

SNOW HILL -- Mrs. Ada Leen Strickland Wells, 85, passed away Thursday morning at Britthaven Nursing Home in Snow Hill.

Mrs. Wells was born in Pitt County on April 16, 1924, the daughter of Blaney and Abbie Mooring Strickland. She had retired from the former Granite Glove in Snow Hill and was a member of the Snow Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Ronnie Heath officiating. Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Snow Hill Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd William Wells and Dexter Donald Wells; and son, Jerry Wallace Wells.

Her surviving family includes her daughters, Debra Wells Stocks of Snow Hill and Abbie Jean Wells Lancaster of Pikeville; a son, Lloyd L. Wells of Snow Hill; sisters, Connie Roberson, Ellen Goldmeyer and Linda Carraway, all of Farmville, and Marie Strickland of Virginia; brothers, Linwood Earl Strickland of Walstonburg and George Michael Strickland of Farmville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday and other times at the home of Lloyd Wells, 107 Edgemont Drive, Snow Hill.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Snow Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 1158, Snow Hill, NC 28580.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
