CARROLL E. LYNCH

Carroll Edward Lynch, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday.

Carroll was born in Wayne County on April 8, 1931, to the late John Lemley Lynch and Lena Walters Lynch. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved his Lord and family to the end. Carroll was a faithful member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Cherry Hospital as a bakery supervisor.

Carroll was an avid hunter who enjoyed training bird dogs and raising quail. He looked forward to his annual hunting trips to Nebraska with his friends to hunt quail and pheasant.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. Rex Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Cole Lynch; four sons, James Cole Lynch and wife, Vickie of Wilmington, Larry Edward Lynch of Goldsboro, Daryl Clint Lynch and wife, Cynthia, of Goldsboro and Carroll Edward Lynch Jr. and wife, Rhonda, of Wilmington; and his grandchildren, Savannah Lynch, Spencer Lynch, Cameron Lynch, Kimberly Lynch, Aaron Lynch and Joshua Lynch. He is also survived by three sisters, Dorothy Hussey of Kinston, Virginia Cunningham of Grifton and Alice Woods of Burlington; and his brother, Eugene Lynch of Suffolk, Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Lynch and Jesse Wayne Lynch and one sister, Hazel Parker.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham Street, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530, or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 842 Ebenezer Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
