JAMES H. WEEKS

April 29, 1945 -May 4, 2009

James Henry Weeks, 64, of the Turks and Caicos Islands, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away suddenly on Monday in Columbus, Ohio.

James was born in Wayne County on April 29, 1945 and was the son of Facie and Faye Weeks of Pikeville and the late Irene Walker Weeks.

He worked as a developer of real estate. James had a great love for the ocean and for fishing, and enjoyed a special relationship with his family.

A service to celebrate James' life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield officiating.

At his request, James will be buried at sea at a later date.

In addition to his parents, James is survived by his daughter, Shannon W. Pate and husband, Dr. Chris Pate of Goldsboro; his son, James Henry Weeks II of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Xan, Canden, Connor and Cabe Pate. He is also survived by his fiancée, Rebecca Mahan.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Weeks; his grandson, Caleab Pate; and a special aunt and uncle, Henry and Annabelle Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, V.A., 23058.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents, 141 Circle Drive, Pikeville.
