ROSE HILL -- Lester Middleton, 90, died Monday morning, at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.

Funeral services will be held from First Baptist Church in Rose Hill at 1 p.m. Thursday with Dr. W. K. Raynor officiating. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery, N.C. 11, Rose Hill.

Mr. Middleton was a well-known farmer in the Duplin County area.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Carrie Mae James.

His survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Andoria Middleton of the home; his daughters, Geraldine M. Shaw (Larry) of Wallace, Sherry Boney of Rose Hill and Lestain Jiles of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Angela Boney-Newkirk (Antonio) of Rose Hill, Guenevere Boney of Rose Hill, Anthony Middleton (Zenita) of Durham, Erica Jiles of Rose Hill and Shawanda Bryant of Norfolk, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Dawkins, Isaiah Dawkins, Blake Boney and Braxtyn Newkirk; one brother, Lewis Johnson (Mamie) of Watha; one brother-in-law, the Rev. W.C. Kenan (Bertha) of Midland, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Marguerite Kenan and Regina Kenan of Rose Hill and Katie Newkirk of Baltimore, Md.; a special nephew, Nathaniel Dobson of Wallace; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 472 Wells Town Road, Rose Hill.
