Carl Clifton Faircloth, 91, passed away on Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for tonight at 7 at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Grady and the Rev. Dewayne Eakes officiating. The committal service will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Faircloth was born in Wayne County on Feb. 11, 1918, to the late Leslie Faircloth and Lillie Anders Faircloth. Mr. Faircloth was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and was a lifetime farmer in Wayne and Greene counties. He expressed his love for his family and many friends.

Carl is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mrs. Ava Smith Faircloth. He is also survived by his daughters; Carol Creech, and husband, Nelson, of Snow Hill, Annette Pelletier of Snow Hill, and Daphine Price, and husband, Dennis, of Goldsboro.

Mr. Faircloth is also survived by his two sisters, Irene Evans of Goldsboro and Catherine Ham of Snow Hill; as well as two brothers, Junius Faircloth of Hookerton and Connie Faircloth of Rocky Mount. Mr. Faircloth is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand children.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Faircloth was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Ray Faircloth of Charleston, S.C., and Morris Faircloth of Snow Hill; and a son-in-law, Roger Pelletier of Snow Hill.

The family request memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the residence, 2241 Water Shed Road, LaGrange.
