Arthur Conrad "Connie" Winter, 80, a resident of the Pines, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Frederick Winter and Lena Morgenegg Winter and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hennig Winter. Mr. Winter was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro. He delivered Meals on Wheels four days each week and attended almost every Eastern Wayne High School sporting event.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Clark officiating. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, N.Y.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Winter of Wyncote, Pa. and Charles Winter of Calgary Alberta Canada; his daughter, Beth Jorgensen of Goldsboro; his sister, Hazel Bendel of Long Island, N.Y.; his brother, Frank Winter of San Jose, Calif.; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WAGES, 601 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, 27530 or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, 27534.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
