LILLINGTON -- Margie A. Mann, 81, of Lillington died Friday at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nannie Ashburn. Mrs. Mann worked for 40 years at Fort Bragg in civil service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel C. Mann; a brother, Melvin Ashburn; and two sisters, Edith Davis and Mallie Anthony.
She was active in many civic and church activities and a member of the Lillington Presbyterian Church. She was active with the Lillington High Steppers and The Red Hat Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Mann Reaves; sons, Bruce Mann of Raleigh and David Mann of Wilmington; a sister, Betty Jane Upchurch of Durham; and a brother, Randall Ashburn of Raeford.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lillington Presbyterian Church in Lillington. The Rev. Dr. William Goodnight will officiate. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 to11 a.m. in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service and at other times at her home.
Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Fund, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75244.
