Annie Deaver Lever, 86, died Monday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

Mrs. Lever was born in Duplin County to the late John Ivey Deaver and Hester Susan Grady Deaver. She was married to the late Rev. Norbert Edgerton Sr. and the late Ralph Lever. Mrs. Lever was a retired operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Nahunta Cemetery.

Mrs. Lever is survived by her son, Caperse Edgerton and wife, Cathy, of Goldsboro; her sister, Margaret Varnes of Ocala, Fla.; her brother, Johnnie Deaver of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepchildren, James Edgerton of Morehead City, Velma Holland and Bessie Tucker of Beaufort, and Mattie Gray and Margaret McCabe of Morehead City; and a step daughter-in-law, Geraldine E. Edgerton.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Norbert Edgerton Jr. and Daniel Edgerton; her stepsons, Delbert and Charles Edgerton; and her sisters, Mary Gainus, Nancy Brock and Sue Hunt.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, 27534.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
