Rita Jane Burks died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A private funeral service was held Wednesday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 900 S. George St.
Mrs. Burks was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Thomas Hopkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamalyn Moon of the home; one sister, Jacquelyn Neal; and two grandchildren, Carlton Moon II of Raleigh and Wayne Tyrone Smith II of Goldsboro.
