Norwood Austin Jr., 81, 725 Force Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Isaac Burnett Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery.
He was a native of Wayne County and was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Edmonson and Norwood Uzzell. Mr. Austin served in the U. S. Army, was a World War II veteran, and an employee of Wayne Memorial Hospital for 35 years.
Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Mabel Austin of the home; three sons, Mikail Wadud, the Rev. George Berry and Norwood Austin, III; two daughters, Brenda Austin and Justina A. Perry; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
