Blanche Smith Anderson, 92, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Wayne County to the late Luby Smith and Dora Worrell Smith. She was married to the late Earl Anderson. Mrs. Anderson was a home-maker and participated in the Foster Grandparents Program at O'Berry Center for 23 years. She was a member of Oakland Friends Meeting.

Funeral services will be tonight at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughters, Bernice A. Jones and husband, Thomas, of Mount Olive, Selma Gurley of Rosewood, Frankie Collins and husband, Silas, of Goldsboro, and Edna King and husband, Jerry, of LaGrange; her son, James Vernon Anderson and wife, Phyllis, of Goldsboro; her brother, C. Ray Smith and wife, Lucille, of Goldsboro; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Martin and Jesse Anderson; her son-in-law, John Gurley; her granddaughter, Darlene King; her great-grandson, Jonathan Collins; and her brothers, Charles, William, and David Smith.

The family will receive friends tonight following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 227 Oakland Church Road.
