LYON S. REYNOLDS

GREENSBORO -- Lyon Shotwell Reynolds, of Friends Homes at Guilford, died Tuesday. She had been a resident there for 15 years. A memorial service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Friends Homes. Interment will precede at 1 p.m. at Centre Friends Meeting in Pleasant Garden.
Lyon was born in Granville County to Annie Lyon and John Thomas Shotwell. She earned a B.S. degree from East Carolina University, and was the first student there to do graduate work in mathematics. She belonged to Pilot Club and Lady Lions Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Nathan Reynolds; her sisters, Dot Satterwhite and Margie Roane. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Reynolds Setzer; a granddaughter, Kate Setzer Kamphausen; a sister, Dee Evans, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Friends Homes, First Friends Meeting, or Piedmont International Church.
